Chashaku is the traditional spoon for serving matcha and an integral part of the matcha ceremony. The curved portion of the spoon is used to scoop a small portion of matcha tea and place in a chawan (matcha bowl). The mixture is then whisked to uniform consistency using a bamboo chasen (whisk). We recommend using two chashaku scoops, but the amount of matcha served depends on individual preference and the matcha drink you want to prepare.
