Experience the warm, roasted flavor of our traditional hojicha powder. Unlike our matcha, which is made from shaded, steamed green tea leaves, our hojicha is crafted from roasted green tea leaves, resulting in a rich, nutty aroma and naturally low caffeine content. Its smooth, earthy taste makes it perfect for cozy lattes, refreshing cold drinks, or creative culinary uses.

Our omē traditional hojicha powder is made from the same tea plants as our matcha, grown on a renowned organic farm in Uji, Kyoto. The leaves, harvested later in the season, are carefully roasted to develop their signature mellow flavor and aroma. This roasting process reduces bitterness and caffeine while adding a comforting warmth. After roasting, the leaves are finely stone-ground into a smooth, aromatic powder.
Hojicha vs Matcha: Both come from the same Camellia sinensis tea plants and the same Uji fields. The key difference lies in the harvest and preparation. Matcha uses young, shaded leaves from the first and second harvests, delivering a vibrant, grassy flavor and higher caffeine. Hojicha uses mature leaves from later harvests, roasted to create a toasty, gentle taste that's perfect for any time of day.
